I'm Ankur. I build web apps, data tools, and whatever else an idea calls for. I like figuring out how things work and turning that into something useful.
Most of my work moves between interfaces, APIs, and the systems behind them. I usually reach for TypeScript or Python, but the problem gets the first say. I'm interested in the whole thing: how it feels to use, what happens underneath, and how it holds up once people rely on it.
This page is a little of what I make and a little of what I do when I close the laptop.
A few things I've built
- Ryuk AI: ask your database questions in plain English, explore the answers, and turn them into dashboards and reports.
- nepse-sdk: a typed Python interface to Nepal's stock exchange, built by reverse-engineering NEPSE's undocumented API. Install from PyPI.
- Nepal Atlas Map: an interactive map for exploring Nepal's provinces, districts, municipalities, and constituencies.
- Tunnel: a self-hosted HTTP tunneling service written in Go. It exposes a local web application through your own VPS and domain.
Work
ArtisAI - Nov 2024 - Present
I built CogniStream’s research workflows, from study creation and participant segmentation to voice interviews and reporting. I developed synchronized audio and transcript review, organization and project access controls, and background analysis workers with leases and heartbeats to prevent overlapping execution.
For EVE, I built fleet-planning dashboards for vehicle comparisons, charging schedules, power utilization, and cost analysis, alongside configurable vehicle-reimbursement workflows. For Kapp, I connected race and tracking APIs to event listings and live boat maps.
A5 IT - Feb 2024 - Nov 2024
I built supplier data pipelines for catalog ingestion and price and inventory synchronization, plus eBay and Walmart authorization flows. I developed background processing for bulk orders and integrated supplier invoices and freight quotes into the operations platform.
I built storefront cart, quote-request, and licensing workflows connected to backend APIs. I also automated staging and production deployments across the storefront, admin dashboard, and backend services using GitHub Actions, Docker Compose, and Nginx.
Hyperce - Aug 2023 - Feb 2024
I built deployment pipelines for e-commerce backends and CMS applications, publishing versioned Docker images to AWS ECR and deploying to ECS/Fargate with service-stability checks. I automated database migrations and configured runtime secrets and centralized logging.
I contributed customer-facing product and service pages in Next.js and integrated SendPortal newsletter subscriptions with subscriber tagging.
Other work, 2021 - Present
At Resimator / Seldio, I built self-service ordering, menu management, and restaurant sales dashboards. At Utarchadhav, I developed cross-page podcast playback, publishing tools, and merchandise checkout and order management. For Qubit Global / Tokenpilot, I built configurable multi-order trading workflows and integrated limit-order submission through a Go API.
For an AI analytics platform, I built AWS deployment infrastructure and improved database connection management. For an educational video platform, I developed learning workflows and subscription billing. On an AI marketing platform, I migrated analytics services to NestJS and built video-remix rendering and social publishing workflows.
Away from the keyboard
Travel
I like being somewhere with a trail to follow. That's taken me to Taplejung, Mustang, Manang, and Gosaikunda, with plenty of stops in between.
I've also spent a few months in Rishikesh and wandered through Manali and other parts of Uttarakhand. I like staying long enough for a place to feel familiar. There are photos from those trips and other moments here.
Lately, I've been getting into motorcycles. A longer trip is on my mind, with enough room for detours and changes of plan.
Music
I listen to a lot of music and don't have a favourite genre. I'll go from Mongolian throat singing to Ukrainian yodels to Palestinian Levantine music, following whatever catches my ear.
I keep coming back to Tara Devi, Prem Dhoj Pradhan, Phatteman, Kishore Kumar, and Asha Bhosle.
Alongside them, there's Queen, The Beatles, System of a Down, and Led Zeppelin.
I play guitar as well, though less often than I used to. These days, I spend more time listening than playing.
